The mirror travel is to the plane of the dead, but usually on!y as a conduit. Though one can get trapped in it.

Donons can travel through space from literal point to point Transit to another mirror, or for inter-planer travel.

Taxonomy:

Abilities: Vesper Linder Game Rules

Intelligence - Ability to integrate and process concrete information into abstract concepts that allow character to predict future outcomes, and produce repeatable solutions. PC does an intelligence check when encountering abstract problems.

There are two types of intelligence, convergent (CI) and divergent, (DI).

Convergent intelligence is the ability to take multiple variables and narrow a problem down to one solution.

Divergent intelligence is the mental ability to take many or multiple variables and integrate them into a larger picture, aka creativity. High DI yields the ability to think outside the box and moreover, to see outside one’s current knowledge.

High CI allows the PC to think within their own host of previously acquired or newly available knowledge to find a solution to given or new problem.

Problems which require both of equal amounts of CI and DI simultaneously are handled by the first, general overall intelligence score.

Wisdom - Ability to understand broader ranging problems that one typically thinks of in terms of having ‘wisdom with age.’ PC rolls a wisdom check for example, when trying to decipher the overarching motives of a person or organization, or what to do when rearing a child.

Health

Endurance

Strength - Pure physical strength.

Charisma - Ability to enrapture and motivate other characters to do what you wish with a currency of awe (of you or your supposed knowledge or ability), gratitude, flattery, self-esteem (theirs and yours) and the overall ability to make others feel important and excited to be around you. This self-importance is typically something one is unconscious to; tacitly accepts, and yet requires to bolster their own self-esteem. That is why people cling onto charismatic characters, as they lose that self-esteem when separated from the charismatic individual. PC rolls a charisma check upon needing to influence another character to do something they want.

Biological Beauty - The amount of facial and bodily symmetry designated for disease resistance, and selective procreational survival.

Agility

Dexterity

Tedium - The ability to put up with boredom.

Linderen is the known world of the PCs. Most have a picture of the world in their heads because of satellite magic, which may have differing points of view, but generally relays the same picture.

Half if not most matter is animate and intelligent.

Linderen was actually called 'Ramiland' by the ancients, thousands of years ago.

Red Banes

The tribe this spirit is from is unknown to the Linderen world, but most wizards theorize them to come sometime deep in the past.

They appear most often a red skinned man with an axe, slowly creeping up on unsuspecting people. Most often for some reason these spirits inhabit forest hotels and plague and haunt the owners of a given establishment.

Reds, or Redskins or Red Banes as they are most often called-- are invisible mostly to the naked eye until the trick of looking behind oneself, not one way or once, but the second time one looks behind oneself, does the spirit appear. They follow people mostly along paths of forests but have also been known to dwell in hotel rooms of travelers. Red men or banes hack the scalp off a person (they don't attack beasts or mutants) and leave them for dead.

Art Realities

It took me half my life and 20 years out of art school to realize fully some very simple realities:

1. Art schools are fully aware that art as fine art, being art driven solely by an artist’s vision—doesn’t sell in our country.
2. Art School is valuable only for its teachers and community.
3. What the real world actually consists of: Every element of our society is geared to separate an artist from her or his values.

#3 Here is in this list, is the most important lesson. Why would a whole society be divested in ruining artists? Answer: they aren’t, per se, but that is the net effect.

Society’s purpose, as such, has been to make people buy endless products, acquire needless possessions endlessly, and to make babies. So what does art have to do with this?

Nothing. That’s the problem.

If people were educated and intelligent enough to buy fine art, and love art for art’s sake, the economy would have to reinvent itself, people might be too happy to buy products or acquire things all the time, wouldn’t have as many babies, and hence, wouldn’t buy more products. Families and reproduction are the two prime ways society gets an artist to surrender their values. First off, it makes risk too hard a venture to ever succeed and necessitates getting ‘a real job.’

Babies aren’t the only way to control people, a number of awful things bring us into slavery after school like not having free Healthcare,

Pitch for site:

Telling Tree

A telling tree will mix truth and lies leaving the player to guess which is which but can predict the future

Taxonomy:

You are not alone.

It really helps me to know now, that none of this was normal.

It really helps to know that we never really had a chance.

Helps to know, there really were cliques, even in Elementary School.

That cheerleaders and football players really were about keeping artists and thinkers out of style and out of sway.

That there literally really were poisons they called food, they intended us to eat.

We ate them.

And that they were all around us.

Cars really are dangerous. 60,000 deaths a year, a Vietnam. Every year. They just didn’t tell us, superhighways are deadly and the world’s end is really and truly always imminent.

In The Handmaids Tale, she scrawls “You are not alone,” inside the closet wall. Where no one can see.

Because at least, there was someone.

Something.

There.

An identity.

Exists.

In finding out that meat and dairy, are not merely linked to pharmaceuticals, but that cancer’s cure was kept from us; and that there really never actually was an incurable disease, the antidote, we were made to think, was the hemlock.

That the whole industry deliberately made decades and decades of precise, cold, calculated, and diabolic efforts to keep people sick, to keep selling drugs and meat.

That the third world will never eat.

Were never meant to eat.

We were never meant to be cured.

That there really was and is – a Ministry of War, they call The Ministry of Peace.

That war is invented to sell missiles. Really and truly. That conspiracy is, far from the exception: it is the rule.

And observe how discredited that single word, is.

And this is what happens to all undesirable speech: Newspeak.

That jobs really indeed are a modern slavery, intended to keep you distracted. That your tasks were always utterly unimportant.

So only certain men become entrepreneurs. So you’ll think twice about taking any risks, and have kidssssssss…

Kids. The eternal chain, that by its very merit, pulls you down by your own devices. So you’re too guilty to recover. Meanwhile there is no need for kids. And meanwhile the bombs fall.

On their.

Kids.

This is REAL.

I never really thought it was really, …real.

You bet your life it is.

You bet your life, cause every race for the cure, is actually a race to the death.

5 men own half the world. I’ll send you the link.

A race for your life, you never had a chance in living.

My Grandmother died at 64.

My mom at 49.

My uncle, at 49.

My other uncle, at 62.

My daughter’s family in which her uncle died at 20, her grandfather, long before she was born.

My Dad attempted suicide.

At 71.

And still the light of his mind, scarcely trembles.

It’s all normal, he says. As will he say, eternally.

Still we scarcely tremble or lift a brow.

Airliners crashing into buildings. Were always coming. Were always there. Terror tends to crop up almost solely around elections. No one bats an eye.

There will be more, and will call it Boston Strong. Or New York Strong. We will call it, resilience.

Resist.

It says. Resist. sponsored, by ‘Surrender.’

We weren’t hijacked.

Cause the very game is called: “Hijacked.”

We just…didn’t look at the cover.

But we bought it. Oh boy, we bought it.

See, I used to think this was all my fault.

That only I could prevent forest fires.

Grenfell Tower

falls.

But really. It helps me to know that all of this was never normal.

And you are not alone.

Edna

Edna is a fortune telling lady, friend of the Telling Trees wood, the world over; who puts little fortune notes in random books. She is wholly unaware in most cases, of the fact that these fortunes, upon being rediscovered--animate the discoverer in some seriously new ways.

Ednas hang out in trinket stores and markets usually underneath piles of peoples little antiques they've sold to the shop. Many rumor that these trinkets also possess magical powers, to be bought at ones own risk.

The bearer of an 'Edna' fortune, reaps everything written in that note. The problem often is, the implications extrapolate in ways the adventurers wouldn't necessarily predict. Once read, the fortune or saying on that piece of paper, forever alters the time track of that person or creature. The only way to reverse an Edna fortune is to find the Plane's original Dimension it came from, and travel into it. Once there, the story of the fortune has to be figured out in order to be unravelled. It is up to the GM to determine how this is done, but it always involves a lesson of some sort in light of the destiny of the fortune. It is almost always a moral lesson, as the Dimension of Ednas all exist in the moral-metaphysical environment.
The trinkets of the Edna shops do indeed posees magical powers, specifically in terms of the memories of the sellers. Some good, some bad these memories infect the life of the bearer and their timeline often haunted. If the seller had died thereafter, that person's spirit might appear suddenly in the house or living space of the buyer.

Conformity of Fact. Questions vs Answers.

It is conformity to the most highly likely facts bound by logic--or a surrender of arms. Yours.

Whether I know it or not or even made it a principle or not consciously, that tenet has ruled my life.

Just one example is that I have lost many friends actually just in being vegetarian. Even though I did not lose them outrightly--It is only that they could never get away with doing that, so I can only say that this is what it boiled down to: my refusal to be man, to own a car, a house, to have a career...is why I lost them.

Yet the denial of how meat is consumed as the primary problem to do with our now near and total extinction--has revealed their failure not merely to be friends, but to be human beings. Because human beings value the truth as an active state. The truth is like discipline: it is short term sacrifice for long term gain. Truth is the conformity, a thoughts conformity to reality.

Notice how implicitly most replace reality in this instance with society.

And since society is the ultimate backdrop for the truth, all our rulers have to do Is target our friends whom we always think of when voicing an unpopular position.

I can't tell you how many friends have changed their entire positions on things just because they're friends did. I also didn't realize conversely the value friends had in my life and I also rejected my friends pretty hastily. This is despite the fact that this is all true; that if you reject logic in any degree you are in the long term only punishing yourself even if the only consequence is the actions of others who have led to human extinction.

It is only now that I make the former a policy to move forward and to part all seas, at all costs. I have a learned that absolutism in a certain sense is the only option. As Martin Luther King has said "passivity in the face of oppression is the same moral stature as that of the perpetrator."

Ayn Rand said something very similar: She said that "the appeaser is worse than the aggressor."

It actually took me half my life to really understand what she was saying there. The product of what she meant, is that the gateway, the only gateway through which evil passes is to do with the actions of the appeaser, not the aggressor.

And that the aggressor always consciously relies on the tacit acceptance of the appeaser to do what they want. It wasn't until I started seeing this not merely on a political level but also a familial one that I understood this as a microcosm for all human behavior.

This has been true of every bully I've ever encountered, no matter on what level big or small--and it's been true of every weak person I have ever witnessed. As Rand also said: it is the relationship, this relationship between the monster and the victim; that they actually need each other to keep going.

On some persistent level they both know it, it is all they do know.

Whether it be my father who married a horrible woman, who abused him and took his children away in return for earthly pleasures, defensible though as they may be; or Neville Chamberlain who let Hitler into Poland.

Maybe Chamberlain really did know what Hitler was up to, and needed Hitler in this perverse way.

When I learned that walking 2 to 3 miles a-day, cut my chances of cancer in half, I stopped only walking the adequate amount and pushed myself to do more.

When I learned that writing to oneself or just writing at all, cuts the dementia risk by 40%, I no longer complained myself when I was frustrated because I knew that I was gaining something every time it happened.

The same is true of this God-awful phone keyboard that I had to learn over years and years really without making a typo every other word. Now I write novels on the phone, though it is still not as good a technology as the keyboard on a computer.

In a choice between food and poison, it is only poison that can win. - AR

The point is we think of knowledge reason and logic as we're taught to: in terms of the liberal arts offered up at every University. It's almost laughed at every time that phrase 'liberal arts' is uttered.

But it is the same people making you laugh at that, who claim philosophy is dead as anything but an innocuous hobby, as the people asking you to just keep eating meat, keep watching football, relate merely in terms of phrases and stories rather than questions and answers. It is the same people that don't want you to have the answers they have. The same people who have the one thing you really don't: Capital.

The Bump

A nighttime creature that lives in the attics of homes. It consists only of a bumping head that has no body and travels by 'bumping' its way across a floor. Thus, someone observing an upstairs 'bump' would hear a heart beat like continual noise as if a single footstep repeating. This footstep gains speed as it osilates toward its next host. If the victim does get consumed by a bump, their head is imploded and 'absorbed' by the bump, who is the head of its last victim.

They often appear like those little bobble heads you get from a coin machine at a grocery store that also sells gum.

It must be a home featuring the bond between two people, to show up.

If one becomes the victim of a bump that consumes their head, then you go to the attic they once inhabited, reliving some memory ad infintitum until they find another head to replace. This attic repeats in their heads until the end of time unless another head is consumed.

Memory Trees

Also called 'Garnawins' by the common tongue. They are single plate monoliths related to Enulites, that cast inverted sunlight through their imprinted holes. These cookie cutter holes are objects in other planes and dimensions.

The light cast through a memory tree endows its beholder with great abilities and insight. The problem is in controlling it and if you're not a sorcerer or wizard or spell caster of any kind, it can easily control you. Each Garnawin splits itself and casts from differing planes depending on the angle and where the holes were actually imprinted from. Every adventurer standing before the monolith, is soiled with often an overbearing sense of great nostalgia about everything.
