Works in Progress
Untitled I.
Oil on Canvas October 2019
Very beginning of a new painting.
I think the figures will stay as is pretty much, incomplete.
But the background will take at least a few layers and hence, days to complete.
Using Liquin fast drying/glazing agent.

Metaphysical Surrealism
In Her Hallway
Oil on Canvas - 2005
Many of the characters from my dreams are females luring you in...
or warning you, depending on something I've never been able to figure out.
The "Bone Cathedral" behind her is laden with flower carpeting and a mysterious train in a vast underground lair.
The red door appears almost as an after thought...
Into The Door
Oil on Cardboard - 1996
This is me heading into a recurring doorway, and cathedral
from a series of dreams featured in another piece I did later called "In Her Hallway..."
Ravenel Lane
Oil on Canvas - 2009
In Ravensworth Farm, a Northern Virginian suburb not far from D.C.
there was a nun I and my friends encountered who lived in a boarded up house
with a lawn growing over the fence.
She would wander around town asking everyone she met...
"Did you know Jesus loves you?"
The Ribbon
Oil on Canvas - 2003
I often see myself as a female in my dreams as well as my novel.
This is basically a self-portrait of my morning cup of coffee.
The structure in the background is recurring surreal architecture.
Jefferson Memorial
Oil on Canvas - 2014
Portrait of the Jefferson Memorial at night.
I did a series of D.C. paintings, as this is the area I am from originally.
The Ribbon (Drawing)
Graphite on Paper - 2002
Preliminary drawing of "Ribbon" painting.
The Playground
Oil on Canvas - 1996
I spent the early days of my childhood in Centerville, Virginia
a bed room community of apartment complexes primarily of military families
who were at work most of the time.
As a result all the early playgrounds I played on, were empty.
Memory and Machines
Oil on Canvas - 1997
Abstract work. Dreams about windmills and turbines.
this piece was done while I was struggling being away at school and my mom's illness...
Has layers of loss, memory, and acclimation to city life just having moved to NYC.
***k The VCR!
Oil on Canvas - 2017
I was visiting Manhattan back in 2016...
and there was this homeless older guy in the NYC subway on Canal St Station
storming all over smashing VHS tapes into the ground, screaming "Fuck the VCR!"
I did this in effigy of his genius.
97
Oil on Canvas - 2017
Tribute to the late Yaffa Cafe, NYC.
This is of a girlfriend I spent time with there in 1997
I frequented the downtown East Village Yaffa Café at 97 St Marks St. many times while attending The School of Visual Arts on 23rd St.
I wept to witness its departure in 2014. Another last of true bohemia in the United States.
Another Fall
Oil on Canvas - 2007
This translucent monolith is a representation of night terrors I had when I was a kid.
I dreamt of endless fields of black rectangles, me falling into them from great heights.
The First Time
Oil on Canvas - 2007
This is a painting of the first time I ever laid eyes on a girl who actually liked me.
I was 15.
Caroline
Oil on Canvas - 1996
These floating black monoliths topped with turbines inhabited my mind when I first moved to New York
...My childhood self overlooking this future of iron dreams
At National
Oil on Canvas - 2005
This is the first painting I did after getting back from France in 2005
I think it represents how lost and yet hopeful I was

Wind and Whisper
Oil on Canvas - 2012
She's not quite looking at you, almost looking past you
But she's greeting you, unmistakably...Yield here.
Vanishing Sun
Oil on Canvas - 2007
In Luminous
Oil on Canvas - 2012
This was a commission from a very important client.
I was told to create a rebirth
And this waking dream is what resulted.
Fair Oaks Mall
Oil on Wood - 1996
This is a depiction of Mall life
In the era of the latent automobile environment
...Now just beginning to disappear
The two figures in the foreground are
Mellanie and Daniel, good friends of mine from my adolescence.
